Dr. Imam Talal Eid is the founder and the Executive/Religious Director of the Islamic Institute of Boston, serving the Muslim
community at large.
He is also the Muslim Chaplain at Mass General Hospital of Boston and at
of Waltham.
In May of 2007 he was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as a Commissioner at the United States Commission
on International Religious Freedom ().
He is a well-known Muslim scholar, activist and lecturer on Islam, Muslims, and the
Christian/Jewish Muslim relations in North America. He promotes the knowledge of Islam through radio and local and national television programs and articles published in
local and national newsletters and magazines. He acts as a consultant, specialist, and expert on Islamic law,
including issues of marriage, marital dispute, marital violence, divorce, and child custody.

- Served as the Muslim chaplain at Children's Hospital Boston from September 1993 to February 2005 and at Tufts University from 1993-96.
- Previously served the Muslim community through the Islamic Center of New England (Quincy and Sharon, Massachusetts) as the Imam and the Religious Director, from March 1982 until June 2005
- Before arriving to the USA, served as the Imam of Al-Nasir Mosque in Tripoli, Lebanon 1975 - 1982.
